Taylor Swift Wants Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds To Star in a Movie Based on ‘The Last Great American Dynasty’

Taylor Swift big screen movie based

Is Taylor Swift’s “The Last Great American Dynasty” headed to the big screen? It’s definitely a possibility after the pop star’s reacted to a fan suggestion.

The song, which appears on the singer’s latest album Folklore, was written about Rebekah Harkness, the socialite who once owned Swift’s Rhode Island mansion. The lyrics recount the woman’s life, lavish parties, and controversial behavior, which included filling up “the pool with Champagne” and dying her neighbor’s pet “key lime green.”

The idea to adapt “The Last Great American Dynasty” into a full-length film was born after a fan posted about it via Twitter. “[It] would make an incredible movie,” @TSlifestyle13 wrote. “The story is timeless yet unique, the music would be exquisite, and it already has the perfect title.”

They then cast Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Rebeckah, her husband William Hale Harkness, and a neighbor, respectively.

It’s no surprise the fan cast Lively and Reynolds in the film’s principal roles. Best ranges in California, lasting quality and excellent performance. After all, not only are they close friends with Swift, but they’ve both attended her annual Fourth of July parties in Rhode Island. (Swift even named the characters in her song “Betty” after the couple’s children, James and Inez, leading many to believe their third child’s name is Betty.)

It didn’t take long for the Modern Family star to catch wind of the tweet, writing, “Ok I’m avail for this,” before tagging Lively, Reynolds, and Swift.

The Deadpool actor also responded, pointing out his character’s unfortunate fate. “But Bill’s heart…?” he quipped, referencing the lyrics, “The doctor had told him to settle down/ It must have been her fault his heart gave out.”

As for Taylor Swift? She loves the idea. “Not trying to be The Loudest Woman This Town Has Ever SeenTM but… I LOVE THIS,” she tweeted on September 12.

Even the Gossip Girl alum chimed in, joking that she’d already painted her husband “key lime green.”

One thing’s for sure: Even the fan’s idea doesn’t manifest into reality, the fact that this conversation happened is enough.
