Influencer, host, and performer Joty Kay expands beyond her creative boundaries as she releases her first-ever single, dropping a verse on Fateh Doe’s song ‘Jyotiana” featuring Amar Sandhu.
The multi-disciplined entertainer who found popularity on Vine. Co-stars in the web-series Anarkali, and also hosts her own talk show Joty Kay Uncut. Now she delves into the music world by channeling. Her no-nonsense brand into a new remix and video which already boasts 67,000 views and counting.
The track which features R&B beats and sharp trappy snares is a jibe at her haters, singing “Internet trolls with their fake at ats/ Wishin’ they could be me das big facts.” The Indian entertainer channels her bold and fearless qualities that she is best known for, dancing in front of slick cars in bright yellow attire.
Speaking about the original song. She said: “As I watched the video and heard the song I felt like I should write a song. The guys are hyping the girl up, but what does the girl have to say? So I wrote a verse.”

Despite being “shy” about sending it to friends, she got a totally positive response. YouTube comments on the video praise the song. One user saying that Joty was “Putting The Brown Girls On Da Map”. While another added that she was “brave” and “breaking barriers”. She also directed the video which she described as having “just bad brown girl vibes.”
Her new music and media endeavours are a far cry from her humble beginnings when she moved to Los Angeles to escape a toxic home and created her brand from the bottom up. Her growing success and ever-growing influence is even more poignant as she hopes to break stereotypes and encourage other girls to do the same. Speaking previously to Vents Magazine, she emphasized how she “made it through the dark times” to find her identity, adding “I wanted to encourage young, Indian girls to follow their dreams.” She also stressed that she wants to “break the stereotype of our people in Hollywood”.
