A remake of She’s All That is coming … and it’s already discovered its star on TikTok.

Addison Rae, a Gen-Z starlet who rose to popularity as a dancer on TikTok, will be taking on the 1999 timeless starring Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachel Leigh Cook You understand, the motion picture about the bothersome senior prom bet. The one where a lady removes her glasses and ponytail and becomes immediately hot! Listen, we enjoy it. (If you wish to feel absolutely ancient, the social media star wasn’t even born when the original movie came out.)

Entitled He’s All That, Variety reports that this adaptation will turn the gender-roles established in the initial, with Rae handling the Prinze Jr.’s function of the popular kid who makes over a castaway.

If you’re believing that this sounds simply a little bit familiar, you ‘d be proper. The very same year She’s All That came out, so did Drive Me Crazy In that motion picture, Melissa Joan Hart played a teenage woman who turns her nerdy childhood buddy ( Adrien Grenier) into cool kid material, all set to a Britney Spears soundtrack. It was sort of an Antz/A Bug’s Life scenario.

Mark Waters, director of Mean Women and Freaky Friday(itself a remake), is on board to direct the project. Plus, the initial writer and producers of She’s All That is also set to return for the remake, so here’s hoping they can wrestle the original stars into cameos.

Pygmalion

Online responses to the news have been mixed, with some questioning whether Rae has the acting chops to carry a feature film (we’ll discover!) and others wondering if a remake is strictly necessary, particularly when the original is arguably ideal.

But the important things is, this is one of the earliest stories in the Western canon. She’s All That is based on George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion, which was based on a Greek misconception. And Pygmalion was also adjusted into the Broadway musical My Fair Woman All of which is to state we will probably get a version of this movie every twenty years for the rest of our lives.

As one Twitter user put it, perhaps “it’s still unnecessary however it’s the fun kind.”

Pertain to consider it, a regular teenager developing into a Big Offer over night use to be the things of 90 s movie legend. Now, thanks to TikTok and Youtube, it seems to happen all the time. It occurred to Addison Rae. At just 19 years of ages, she has 60 million fans on TikTok and supposedly takes home 5 million a year.

Maybe casting her as a trendy Svengali is definitely fantastic.
